@Amber Tackett some good ideas
I guess kinda compared to how much people are wasting their money today.
We spent less than $5000 an it did the trick, still married 9 years later!
I think we spent like $500 LOL I feel so lame
I'm with Megan...12 years this year!
We spent $70 and will soon be celebrating our 25th anniversary! Save the dough and buy a house, save to buy your teens a car...college. :)
I'm with you Megan, I think we spent around $500. 27 years later, still going strong! It should be about the marriage and not the wedding.
Spent <$2000 on my beautiful white wedding with almost 200 guests. My wonderful family helped with the leg work, and my Aunties catered.
All of these comments warmed my heart! Thanks gals.
We spent $200 on the JOP and had dinner with the family after. It was totally fun and we'll be celebrating year 6 in a week! We don't like being the center of attention so we never wanted a big wedding in the first place and we don't regret the way we did it at all. Our friends who usually spent a fortune and had a huge wedding tell us they're jealous :)
I got a court house wedding with close family & friends. Less than $150 for hair, white-ish dress, and whatever the court house charged. Just celebrated 5 years.
I spent $2000 and that was a destination wedding, dress, tux, and spending money....LOL
Less than $1000 and we've been married for 20 yrs
@Kristy Bounds check it out!
We have been married 27 yrs. this october, I don't remember exactly what we spent but it was around $1,000 and it was a nice church wedding :)
We had a $500 dollar wedding that was dress plus the hall , food & everything that goes with a church wedding 35 & 1/2 yrs. ago :-) what you spend does Not make the wedding :-)
Mine too was $5k & everyone had the best time & came to my house after!..Today people are divorced before they even pay off the wedding bill!
10 years ago...and mine was about $700
my husband and I got married almost a year ago and we had 250 guests and still only paid $6000 for everything!! Dress, tux, veil, shoes, decorations for church and reception, cake, dj, dinner, videography, photography, flowers and everything else!!:) it's possible!
8 years ago....about $500.....and still very happily married!
we spent about 700-800 and we just past our 1 year, very happily married and plan on being married for many more years to come
Why is everybody saying how much money you spend determines how the rest of your life with that person will be? It's how you CHOOSE to live your life with them.
I spent a total of maybe 60! Court house wedding!! All that mattered was that i was marring the man that i love. I could care less what dress i had on or the location!!
Like anything else, it depends on what you want and where you live and how much you are willing to do for yourself. We did about half and half...half paid half DIY and had 50 guests, lovely ceremony and reception, photographer, cake, dj, flowers, fancy invites, caterer..and it cost 8K. So yes, it can be done if you are the type who isn't looking for over the moon and can DIY.
$4,000, 130 guests... my friends did a lot of work :)
I spent $3000 and it was amazing!
