When Brox was 6 months old I started planning and pinning for his 1st birthday party. I had so many "theme" ideas but wanted to save those for when he was bigger and could enjoy them more so I decided to go with a super traditional primary colored party in our backyard.

DIY ball pit birthday party. I looked into renting a ball pit and couldn't find one small enough. Then I came up with this idea. Blow up pool filled with ball pit balls. We purchased the balls on-line and used a friends pool. It made for hours of safe fun and a great way to keep them all in one place

Turn the pack and play into a ball pit- just buy balls!!!...brilliant...and not near as gross as communal ball pits.

Ball pit using an inflatable pool, so we'll be able to use it this winter as well. play room

1st Birthday Party Activity / Entertainment: Ball Pit! Great idea considering baby #2's birthday will be in July! :D

Baby birthday party decor.

Ball Pit. This would be fun for a first birthday party. Get one of the bigger blow up pools when summer is close to ending so it is super cheap and fill the bottom with balls. The bigger pool would keep you from having as much come out all over the place and let more kids play.
