I can't wait to photograph my daughter!
I'm framing my dress, or this would be really cute
I have two boys. I should still do this before I give it away! It would still be funny, right?
@Jenny BieseckerPhotography..thought about you & your princess!
I love this!
My cousin is literally like twins with this little girl I sowed her and I asked who is this... She it's ME!
I meant showed
I like this idea....but my mom's friend used my wedding dress to make into a christening gown for my daughter!
That is a precious idea Amii!
think i may do this tomorrow!
Wish I had thought of this when my girls were little.
I should have done this. There's no way they would wear it now.
Cute idea, but maybe a your old graduation cap and gown? :) Marriage should not be the pinnacle of a little girls' dreams.
Cheyenne. Both are very cute ideas. I don't think the photograph implies anything about a wedding being the "pinnacle of a little girls' dream". It's just a cute idea.
Oh, I realize that. They are cute ideas. I just wish society in general would encourage little girls to dream about their education and success equally as much as they encourage excitement about weddings. That's all. :)
Oh please, it is a fricken picture. this isn't a structure for raising a child. It is simply a photo. I succeeded through school, got my Bachelors and you know what? I can't wait for my wedding day. Yay!
@Cheyenne Weishaar why shouldn't marriage be the pinnacle of someone's dreams? we all have different dreams, and for some of us marriage tops other things.
I'm not trying to attack any of you ladies who feel the need to dress your daughter in your wedding dress. If that's what you want to do, I'm not one to judge. I was just suggesting an alternative to enforcing the value of marriage upon our daughters. I have absolutely no desire to get married, and luckily for me, my mother isn't particularly invested in me having a wedding. All I'm suggesting is considering encouraging our daughters to look past marriage as the highest calling in life.
I personally think this is a beautiful idea. Even if my daughter doesn't get married, it will still be a precious picture. A different kind of "in Mommy's shoes".
If marriage is someone's highest calling in life then what of it? I graduated high school, decided college wasn't for me, then got married 2 years later. I know that I was born to be a wife and raise my 2 beautiful children. I do not have the desire to do anything else because raising two great future adults and being there for my family is enough for me. I am lucky that I get to be a stay-at-home-mom. I think there are 2 ways to look at this problem with society. Cheyenne, you say society has made a mistake by making marriage a top priority for girls, well, as someone who decided to get married young and have kids immediatly without ever having continued my education, I feel like society expects me to go to college full time and raise my family, and hold a job, and become a career woman. Makes you feel like being a mom and wife isn't or shouldn't be enough. So, maybe we should just live our lives the way we feel we should.
It's funny how no matter how something is explained it always offends someone. So yes, just find in life what is most important to you and do that. Society puts too much on us in general for image, motherhood, ect. We must support and encourage each other. I am proud of all you women for being you. Spread the support ladies!
@Angela Lawrence -- you have to do this :)
Taking your daughter's picture in your wedding dress doesn't mean that you are going to force her to get married... It is simply a picture!
this is a beautiful idea!
Are you over analyzing a simple picture?
Women pick fights & say their "opinion" about the most ridiculous things! Makes me ashamed to be one, sheesh get a life ladies!
FINALLY something to do with my wedding dress!!
I love the idea! ...Weren't you girls ever taught "if you don't have anything nice to say"' keep your fingers off the keyboard!
Mine friend did something similar the other day and I decided to try it. My daughter had fun dressing up in my dress (she is 3.5) and then she asked for some of daddy's clothes....so I have a picture of her being daddy too. I think that is great. It is just a fun keepsake photo. Definitely nicer to have then keeping the dress for ever.
kid photo ideas
I love this idea for a little girl!
