rubber bands wrapped around the vases, then spray it with the craft spray that 'etches' the glass & remove bands.

Glass vase, rubber bands and spray paint create a cool look!... I have painted by hand one that I will have to pin...how do you do that??

Loved this idea! Just get some cheap vases or glasses from the dollar store, privacy/decorative glass frosting spray paint, assorted rubber bands, and for safety, some paper to put down and a face mask. Just spray them and then when dry, remove the rubber bands. I put the battery operated candles in there to prevent fire. It was a cool look! Recommended!

this is a wonderful way to make your own vase! Simply get a plain glass vase, wrap rubber bands around it, spray paint it, and remove the rubber bands. An interesting piece is left! (Could be great for candles also!)Saw this on Rachel Ray as well, what a great idea, and looks great

Gorgeous and so very simple! Dollar Store vases, rubber bands and glass frosting spray. I used clear wine bottles & did this & it was the easiest project by far to do. So simple, but yet so pretty. Definitely will be doing a ton of these for gifts.

twine and doily covered vases - idea to distinguish the glass vases leftover from mere's wedding...

Mother's Day gift idea that the kids can help make.

glass etching - lots of trial and error - first try with the rubber bands around the vase wasn't quite long enough. Contrary to the directions on the bottle, it needs way longer than a minute, more like 5 minutes. The stripes were made with electrical tape, the flowers were punched out of contact paper and "bloom" was made with stickers and tape. Super fun! --hvw
