At 20, Iqbal El Assaad, a Palestinian refugee from Lebanon, became the youngest doctor in the Arab world and one of the youngest in the world. Iqbal cannot practice medicine in her homeland because of Israel's Law of Return. Iqbal cannot practice medicine in Lebanon either because Palestinian refugees in Lebanon do not enjoy basic human rights. For now Iqbal will go to the US and specialize in Paediatrics. Her dream is to come back to Lebanon and open a free clinic for Palestinian refugees.
