A surgical technician cuts suturing line during a shoulder surgery, June 26, at Fort Eustis, Va. The new operating room in McDonald Army Health Center provides more room for surgeons and staff to move around, giving them space to perform delicate surgeries.

The Nebraska Medical Center operating room (OR) departments enhanced their internal recycling program by collection and recycling "blue wrap," a disposable blue sterile wrap used in the sterilization and covering of surgical instruments prior to procedures. To celebrate the kick off of the initiative, they hosted a recycled blue wrap costume contest.

New sanitary stations and cleaning facilities within the McDonald Army Health Center allow surgeons and staff utilizing the new operating room to handle more surgeries a day due to equipment being more readily available.
