The ultimate reference, yet still amusing, this book takes you on a guided tour of the supermarket. Along the way, it tells you just what you need to know about everything from food labels, to nutrition and health claims, and shows you how to make the best decisions for yourself and your own needs.

This book is by far one of my favorite reference books. It goes over all vitamins and nutrients in clean whole foods, best cooking times for optimum vitamin/mineral retention and so much more. It has a companion website as well, I use it often.

the mac daddy of them all...probably the first book on health and nutrition that i ever bought (probably 1995 or 1996). a must read for anyone who wants to learn about this stuff.
