Makes me realize how exposed I've been to Greek mythology versus Roman mythology. I know everything by their Greek forms xD except for Hercules...but he's a special case. *nod* And DUDE, why was he Hercules in the Disney movie, but all of the gods went by their Greek forms???

In Greek mythology— or more particularly in Ancient Greek poetry— Pitys (Πίτυς; English translation: "pine") was an Oread Nymph who was pursued by Pan. According to a passage in Nonnus' Dionysiaca, she was changed into a pine tree by the gods in order to escape him. Yet another female in Greek mythology who ends up a tree.
