What a great idea for little ones!
This is a great idea
Anyone know where the instructions are? Did regular scissors cut that?
Thats so neat!
I want one for me to use. I hate it when the water is too close to the wall of the sink.
Now if they could just reach the tap too
Still can't reach the taps though!
this looks like it would be great also for using it on the tub faucet too, for rinsing hair easier.
Totally agree with Jamie...
@Katie Pool @Jenny Cutler
But how can they reach to turn it on?
I almost bought something like this... Nice so you don't always have to lift up kiddos to the spout...
Probably a good thing they can't reach the faucets or they would be playing in the water. But you can turn it on for them then go about doing things while they wash up and brush their teeth. I saw something similar for the bathtub spout, maybe in the Harriet Carter catalog?
Ha great idea!!
I think the cat will love this too.
The faucet head is so close to the back wall of the sink in our girls's bathroom even if they can reach the handles, water constantly is overflowing up onto the counter top getting water everywhere. I am definately trying this!!!
I was unable to link to a tutorial. Do you have a website?
my kids need this, now!!!
That is awesome! I'm so doing this for my son!
Amy, was this your creation or did you get it from another site?
Make sure they don't cut their little hands on the sharp plastic though!
As for sharp edges, how about holding them over a flame for a bit. They should melt slightly and round themselves a little.
Much easier for little ones!
Mine is a little jacked up, and a rubber and is helping it stay on, but it works!
I wonder if it's bc I used a regular size JJ body wash container and I needed the large one?
Hey we decided to use sandpaper to smooth out the edges
@Mojo Savings Sorry! I have had internet problems. I thought about this as I struggled to hold my little one up to reach. I don't have a tutorial because I literally just kept cutting at a bottle until it reached the size I wanted. I used scissors to trim all the edges and round them out. Ours isn't sharp at all.
@Rachel Paternostro I did use a bigger bottle for sure. When I made the hole in the "bottom" that slides over the sink I kept it pretty small so it would be a tight fit. It also has a few pieces of plastic still that I use to keep it pointed downwards. Had I realized how many people would want step by step I would have taken pics as I made it. I will do again with my next empty bottle. Sorry I couldn't be more help. No matter what, it beats buying something to make it easier for our little ones to wash :)!
@Jeannie Clemens: Sorry! I didn't make a tutorial. We should be close to the end of another bottle and I will take pics during the process. I didn't realize they would be valuable. I was just happy that I didn't buy something new to do this for my little one.
hi! this is genius! I liked the other diy faucet extender idea that uses a plastic pot holder and rubber band...but, I'd have to buy a new pot holder. So, that's why your idea is golden...always have a plastic bottle. The look of yours is cleaner too.
So, I tried to do this just now with some old linen spray bottles, but I realized the bottom of the bottles are very freakin' hard to cut! I'm going to need drill or saw through it, seriously. I think those Johnson's bottles are made of a softer plastic.
So, I might just have to ask a friend to save me a bottle!
Nice idea but how does the kids turn the water on alone? There is still need for a parents help so you might as well just pick your kid up for a second to help them reach the water flow!!!!
I made my own version using and old plastic take out lid (cut the edges off) and the rubber band that came on our broccoli. Works perfect.
I can use this in my garden tub w/ my 3 year old, to rinse his hair. Awesome idea!
This is awesome - definitely making this!
Sparkler Shield... keep those little hands safe this summer. What a really great idea!
