I made them but the pattern pieces were found in the ruffle boot version and then when enlarged 200% the foot back was way larger than the foot front. I figured out that the foot back should be enlarged only slightly, about 120%, but it was not as simple a project where you can sit down and sew within minutes. Very frustrating but most of your sewing patterns and projects are so why should we be surprised that yet another project is riddled with mistakes and requires us to purchase way more fabric and materials than needed.
That's a bummer but thanks for the heads up Christine. My daughter was just telling me about inserts to make her wellies more winter friendly... so I guess I will just try and make my own, similar to these: http://www.llbean.com/llb/s...
They are super cute, but it was a PITA to make because it wasn't a sit and sew kind of project. Too much figuring out and having to redesign which defeats the purpose of Joann's putting these project ideas on their website. I also had 1/4 to 1/3 extra fabric of the yard it said it needed. This is a reoccurring issue with Joann. They always make you over buy. Sometimes its helpful because the directions are wrong and you have to recut something, but usually I can spot their errors in time to save fabric waste. I just wish they had someone checking these projects before posting them online.
