"THEY are supremely fit Olympians but their body mass index says they are fat. Experts yesterday attacked BMI - which Australian doctors use as a guide to determine if patients are a healthy weight - after calculations showed champion cyclists Anna Meares, Shane Perkins and Scott Sunderland, ironman Ky Hurst (pictured here) and boxer Johan Linde had alarming readings over 25." << Awesome, am looking forward to the Obese Olympics ;)

Weight Loss Tracker.... 1 stone/marble = 1 lbs. - This is awesome! Very visual reminder.

These have always bugged me. Based solely on height, you can tell me what I should weigh. Wanna read my palm and tell me my future next?

if this doesn't piss you off, I don't know what will.

I've seen this pin before and I've been looking into it. The chemical is the same thing that is combined to make chlorine for your pools. The effects seem to be temporary and people wind up poisoning themselves with this stuff and it has some serious affects on the internal organs. Just an FYI.

I had thought the same thing, so I did a little research after I pinned this. I have heard of some cancer patients being prescribed this. Regardless, it's evident that the U.S’s primary medical intervention for cancer (chemotherapy) is more of a buckshot attempt to target the cancer.

That's true...I believe it has a lot to do with the chemicals in the food and these damn growth hormones they keep pumping into all the beef and pork and chicken.

No evidence weight loss improves health, says nutrition expert (Linda Bacon, HAES)

5 lbs of fat next to 5 lbs of muscle. Brilliant illustration!!

@Amanda Giarratano thanks for that info - when are weight loss companies (or any company for that matter) going to realise that their deception is an insult to our intelligence - and bodies?!

Omg!! That's AWEFUL ! I was finished after spending months on staying within points and loss 3 lbs. I just felt I was getting no real education on eating right just less. Very much a soet

I personally really like WW. I think that it teaches healthy eating and portion control and motivates me to exercise. I am doing it for my health, so that I don't get diabetes. I am doing it online so there are no meeting leaders. I think that you have to choose what is right for you, but you shouldn't knock something that helps some people get healthy and has nothing to do with their self love. I've lost 20 lbs. in approx. 9 weeks so far.

  • Kitt Lviv

Alison, its your right to pursue what works for you. Yet many of us have had negative experiences with WW and other members of the billion dollar weight loss industry that RELY on fat people loathing themselves to improve their profits. Ultimately they are a business, not a life long friend or life long system for living happily and healthily. Many people put the weight back on after weight loss - and often it is the dieting/yo-yo weight that causes illnesses. There are many images here that link to further info about this. Let me know if you want any help navigating them.

My Body Gallery. You can plug in your height, weight, pant/shirt sizes and see what other women who are the same size look like. Helps give a more accurate body image.

At 100 years old, Ruth proves that age is really just a state of mind. She practices Pilates and lifts weights everyday. Her best advice is, "Celebrate everyday and don't look at the calendar."

Ok this is pretty neat. enter your current weight, goal weight, and other physical features and it creates a model of what you could look like at your goal weight. *this 'model' is not mine*

To feel fit as a fiddle, you must tone down your middle.
