Rainy Day Boredom Buster: DIY Story in a Bag

We are starting to pull out some old standby activities for the upcoming stretch of indoor activities we will inevitably need. While giving our son's closet a much needed overhaul, we repurposed some of those "treasures" that needed a new reason for being by making a few Story Bags.

TACO Story....What a cute idea for students to show story elements!

This is for teachers but I think it would be fun on a rainy day. Story bags. Fill bags with random items, have the students use them to come up with a story. How fun and using lots of imagination :)

This FREE package… …includes scrambled words for making one story in English and the same story in Spanish. Each story has 3 sentences to unscramble. Next, the sentences are written into a story and students are encouraged to add to the story with their own creative conclusion. Then the story is illustrated with the facts from the story to check comprehension.

Grab a small bag, a few objects from around the house and let the story telling begin... Then trade bags and try to tell a different story with the same objects.

"Story in a Bag" from How Does She. Great for creative writing starters.

Place objects inside a story bag and have students draw one piece at a time and tell a story. You can also have them write out the story or retell a story you make by placing the pieces in chronological order.
