Ban'ei is a draft breed from Japan. It's not actually used as a draft but for ban'ei racing, which is about pulling heavy sleds up the sand ramps. Ban'ei horses are developed for that sport by crossing Percherons, Bretons and Brabants. Today ban'ei racing is quite rare, races are held only at one racecourse.
