I have always been fascinated by trilobites, little critters that lived millions of yeaars ago. My brother remembered that, and got this beautiful fossil for me on one of his travels, sometime in the 1980s. I think they're cute! LOL ©2012 Tiffany Reed #trilobite #fossil

My orthoceras fossil. It is truly amazing to hold something in one's hand that was alive, millions of years ago. I came into this one several years ago, when I lived in Florida. ©2012 Tiffany Reed #fossil #orthoceras

I really like the bright sheen that appears on one side of my labradorite sphere. That characteristic sheen is called either the "Shiller Effect" or "labradorescence" is is caused by the refraction of light through the layers of minerals within the stone. ©2011 Tiffany Reed #labradorite #feldspar #plagioclase #mineral #stone #rock
