Authors and historians Don and Diane Wells visited Pike County recently and located three more Indian marker trees. The trees are at least 185 years old and up to 300 years old. They are believed to have been bent as saplings to point in a specific direction. Using a forked stick at the trunk, the trees were tied down for several years of growth.
