Mountain Laurel - native to eastern North America. Closely related to azaleas & rhododendrons. Grows in a large, rounded mound & has dark green foliage that remains on the plant all year. Late spring, bears clusters of flowers in wht, pnk & red. Mountain Laurels need soil with an acidic pH. Prefers a moist, well-drained ground high in organic matter. Tolerates full sun in moist soil, but does better in partial shade if the soil tends to get dry. All parts are poisonous.
