    You have a great collection of Renaissance paintings and drawings! Clouet is such a skilled portraitist, especially drawing with conté. I think this drawing of Charles IX is better than the painting; it really portrays the wariness and ill health of this king who died young and tortured by his role in the St Bartholomée massacre.
