Japanese soldiers surrender to the Soviets during the Liberation of Manchuria. The Japanese Kwantung Army did not hear about the cease fire and continued fighting after the formal surrender of Japan.
The Fall of Manchuria. On 1 March 1932, Japanese General Shirakawa's troops encircle the Chinese 19th Route Army and force a cease-fire. That same day, the Japanese establish the puppet government of Manchukuo (Manchuria), making the last emperor of China, Henry Pu Yi, (Puyi) as Emperor Kang-de of Manchugo (Manchuria).
Japanese History - Kanji Ishiwara (石原 莞爾 Ishiwara Kanji, 18 January 1889 – 15 August 1949) was a general in the Imperial Japanese Army in World War II. He and Itagaki Seishirō were the men primarily responsible for the Mukden Incident that took place in Manchuria in 1931.
