The top is a layer of coco chalk paint with dark wax and a good sanding to bring some of the old color through. The hardware was too "new" looking so it was dry brushed with a little french linen and a good dark wax.

This vanity was paired with Wood Icing™ Furniture Glazing Color - "Black Licorice" over the top of Graphite, Chalk Paint® Decorative Paint by Annie Sloan. For a soft satin feel I waxed and buffed over the entire piece with Chalk Paint® Clear Soft Wax by Annie Sloan. I think it looks so romantic in my Black and White guest room

Annie Sloan Chalkboard Emperor's Silk -- There used to be a company in Richmond called Tichacek Finishes which made a wonderfully smooth paint like this. I still have a number of pieces painted this color -- "Tichacek Red".
