This DIY mask, made of nutmeg, honey, and cinnamon, is calming and soothing for stressed-out skin – in addition, it smells absolutely amazing! The secret? Nutmeg and honey act as natural anti-inflammatories, which can reduce swelling and redness in skin. They’re also great for soothing acne scars and preventing infection. In addition, the nutmeg and cinnamon also work to exfoliate your skin when you wash this mask off. Before you begin, it’s always a good idea to do a small test with homemade...
Boy do I need this!!
DD used this, and it seem to help.
Perfect! Wonderful ideas!
I ve never made a mask. Are there certain porprtions
@Patricia Avery personally, I used much less nutmeg and cinnamon because it really burned me. But another friend of mine didn't use enough and the honey was too moisturizing lol It takes a bit of experimentation since everyone has different skin.
Everyone be careful with cinnamon you can seriously burn yourselves.
Be careful with putting cinnamon on your face. My mum seriously brunt her skin with cinnamon
I just tried this, works great! Didn't have any burning issues just too much honey. lol Get liquidy if your skin is warm. Other than that, works great and my skin is super soft. :)
I just tried it too, but added some fine ground coffee for the caffeine to create blood circulation. Worked great. Smooth, relaxed, and glowing skin!
better to use oatmeal or coffee instead of cinnamon
Yes, definitely use the coffee!! Put it all together and relax!
Cinnamon on the face......NOT a good idea!
does it work? or does the cinnamon do something to the skin?
Great advise. Going to try this.
Careful of the nutmeg, It is similar to LSD in large amounts.
I like the idea of the oatmeal, honey coffee, tiny bit of cinnamon for aroma, and maybe a smidge of nutmeg. What do you all think about that?
As with all skin care products, the skin type MUST be considered. Sensitive skin would not respond favorably to the cinnamon. Oatmeal, honey, coffee is an excellant group of ingredients for detox and smoothing the skin. Honey alone is healing. Just be mindful of your own skin type. T. Weeden, Esthetician
thank you so much, Terry, that is interesting to know about honey as healing. I have had problems with a sore place that I can't seem to heal, started as a bug bite... maybe the honey will help?? Can't hurt, hopefully. Very nice of you to respond, I appreciate that. Big Smiles, sara
The best honey is Maruka honey, you can get that at a health food store. Good Luck with the spot.
Thanks so much, I have never heard of Maruka Honey, I will check it out, in the meantime, I live in Northern NH and we have local honey bee farmers, who we get our honey from, directly from the hives. Do you think that would be good, also? Thanks so much, Have a Happy Day! Big Smiles, sara
Local honey is the best. I may have the spelling for the "Maruka" honey incorrect however I am sure that a health food supplier/store can assist you. Have a Great Day and stay cool!
We use honey in hospitals for wounds that are infected with staph. Staph is resistant to antibiotics but honey is amazing. I now use it on any wound my kids get and my daughter has been using it as a mask for about 6 months now.
