This website isn't in English, but the photo directions are good: to make the Christmas tree, just cover a cone with saran wrap, wrap with yarn, "paint" with Elmer's glue, let dry, and remove cone. Also shows white string "ball" decorations. Can also place Christmas lights inside to shine through

Easy! Twine Christmas Trees. Twist a piece of paper into a cone shape and hot glue it shut. Then dab a little glue around the base and wrap the twine (or ribbon, or yarn, etc.) around the cone until it reaches the top. Add glue periodically to keep the string in place if need be. Then glue at the top.
Sequin Shimmer: Combine crafts store staples to create these fun tree centerpieces. Start with a plastic-foam cone and an assortment of sequins. Thread the sequins onto corsage pins and stick into the cone, covering it completely. Experiment with layering multiple sequins on one pin. You can also use straight pins, instead of the pearl-head corsage pins.
