The Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon will take place Oct 3 – 13 in Irvine, California, bringing together the best and brightest young engineering, architecture, and physical science students from some of the world’s most prestigious institutions. Twenty teams from as near as University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and as far away as Vienna University in Austria are challenged to build a house that runs solely on solar energy.
