A Birthday Chant adapted from Ms. Miner's Kindergarten Monkey Business blog. Use a hand jive after students learn the chant, then add drums with a low and high sound. (Tubano drums)

Monkey, Monkey in the Tree Shared Reading PowerPoint!! This PowerPoint presentation is a great way to get students excited about shared reading early in the kindergarten year!! Students chant the poem "Monkey, Monkey in the tree, Throw the (color) coconut down to me". As they do, the monkey throws the coconut out of the tree. This is a great way to reinforce colors, and it makes a great extension to any Chicka Chicka Boom Boom unit. $

I love the specific choices... Would be quick but give parents good info. Adapt for middle.
