NEVER EVER wash your cast irons with soap...scrub your cast iron with coarse salt and a soft sponge. The salt is a natural abrasive and will absorb oil and lift away bits of food while preserving the pan's seasoning. Rinse away salt and wipe dry. (Martha Stewart)
Take a used dryer sheet, lightly dampen and wipe down your shower doors!!! I just tried it, and the shower door that I have been putting off cleaning, (because I hate the smell of bathroom cleaner) was shiny and clean in under 2 min!!! I don't know how it works, but WOW!!!
Homemade Cleaning Product ~ Directions: 1 Heat vinegar in microwave until hot and pour into squirt bottle. 2 Add the Dawn soap. Put the lid on and gently shake to incorporate. 3 You now have a powerful cleaning product that will melt soap scum and tub and shower buildup, clean sinks, appliances and just about anything. Just spray it on, scrub, rinse and be amazed. For tough soap scum build-up, spray the mixture on and allow it to sit as long as overnight. Then, scrub and rinse.
Lemon sugar scrub - coconut oil, lemon & sugar. SO simple, combo of the citric acid (chemical exfoliation) & sugar (physical exfoliation) PLUS coconut oil, works amazing to slough off any dry skin, leaving it amazingly soft & fresh.
Baking soda has scrubbing power but won't scratch surfaces. Mix a paste of 3 parts warm water to 1 part baking soda to scrub kitchen stains or clean the oven. Make a bathroom cleanser by mixing dishwashing liquid with baking soda until you have a thick paste
I started doing this and will never stop! My tub & shower are always spotless-so simple. Simple shower and tub cleaner: fill wand half and half. Wet surface and scrub. (we also use dawn to get out oil stains in the laundry and to clean the pesky black stove top - works way better than everything else we've tried and leaves no streaks)
