I should be looking at the bar here but I love this red. I really want a red wall in my kitchen or somewhere in my house.

Multi level is a good idea. You can have a place to sit and eat but it doesn't take away from the counter space on the other side. And you can put outlets on it, which is helpful for food prep.

We figured we needed some sort of dining table, plus more kitchen counter space, space to work at our laptops, plus general storage... all without taking up precious living room space. What better solution than to use the Expedit bookcase on its side as a storage base for a kitchen/dining counter!

Take a country kitchen to the next level with a good farm sink, fine art, and interesting lighting. Added texture comes by way of the tongue and groove wainscot/backsplash and pretty window treatments.

Note to self: pot rack. (Really, really cute above the range, especially if there's no hood with ventilation.) It's the beadboard backsplash and hanging copper pans that give this kitchen a warm, cottage feel.
