The 1937 Cord 812 once owned by Tom Mix, the 1930s cowboy movie star. The actor was killed at the wheel of the supercharged Cord in October 1940; the car was repaired after the crash and restored in 2010. Beyond its repute as a so-called death car, Mix’s Cord has distinctive custom features, including an external-mount spare tire.
