Rosa Parks is arrested for sitting on the wrong end of a Montgomery, AL bus in 1955. Her "disobedience" to the law sparked what would become the Montgomery Bus Boycott.

On December 1, 1955, after a long day at work at the Montgomery Fair department store, Rosa Parks boarded the Cleveland Avenue bus for home. When the bus driver asked her to give up her seat for a white passenger, she refused and the driver called the police and had her arrested.
