Army Sgt. Sapuro B. Nena Died September 16, 2012 Serving During Operation Enduring Freedom 25, of Honolulu; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division, Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash.; died Sept. 16 in Zabul province, Afghanistan of injuries caused by enemy small-arms fire. Also killed were Army Pfc. Genaro Bedoy,� Army Spc. Joshua N. Nelson and Army Pfc. Jon R. Townsend

Assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Carson, Colorado. Died in Sarkowi, Kunar Province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when he encountered an insurgent who detonated a suicide vest.

Army Staff Sgt. Matthew S. Sitton, 26, of Largo, Fla., assigned to 1st Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died Aug. 2, in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by an enemy improvised explosive device.

Army Spc. Ethan J. Martin, 22, of Lewiston, Idaho; assigned to 1st Squadron, 40th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska; died Aug. 7 in Koragay, Afghanistan, of wounds caused by small-arms fire.

Army SGT. Channing B. Hicks, 24, of Greer, South Carolina. Died November 16, 2012, serving during Operation Enduring Freedom. Assigned to the 1st Battalion, 28th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley, Kansas. Died in Paktika Province, Afghanistan, from injuries suffered when enemy forces attacked his unit with an improvised explosive device and small arms fire.
