Best movie I've seen so far this year. It's definitely not for everybody. Pretty dark, anxiety ridden movie with that "indie film" look, a female lead (on the verge of stardom) and John Hawkes impressive in another excellent role. Yes it's the "Winter's Bone" of 2011/2012. Depending on how the rest of the year shapes up this will end up around 7, 8 or 9 on my top 10 of the year.
Cedar Rapids - directed by Miguel Arteta. Sweet and awkward, but falls short of a couple of other movies Arteta directed that I really like (namely The Good Girl and Chuck & Buck, plus some terrific episodes of a few shows I love). I have kind of a soft spot for Ed Helms when he pulls out this kind of endearing idiot performance, and John C. Reilly was fun. I truly did not recognize crazy Anne Heche at all, so kudos to her for that as well, I guess.
RSVP: "Primer", "The tree of life". Voto: 9.
