What’s the single best thing you can do to have beautiful, mouth-watering tomatoes? Save eggshells. wash them, let them dry, then crumble them up. (One easy, non-messy way is to put the shells in a sealed zip-lock bag with the air sucked out, and then run a rolling pin over the bag.) At planting time, put half a cup of the crushed shells (that’s about a dozen eggshells) into the hole before you set in your tomato seedlings – whether you’re planting them in the ground or in a container.
