Truth be told...
THAT IS WHAT HAS HAPPENED AMERICA
Mr. Meyer, I have enough common sense to know when not to continue a rational discussion with someone who feels the need to discredit an opposing opinion with labeling the person or their thoughts as delusional. I am not fearful & am well aware of reality. Good luck with your version of it.
Trish, I NOT labeling you, as a person; but labeling your "opinion or position" as worthy of reconsideration by presenting the facts and the reality of things as I know them. It's just a conversation - I'm not attacking you - no need to get defensive... You have to admit, though, that owning a gun is the result of your "fear" of intrusions or attacks. Right ?? The probability of that is so small compared the risks of a gun accident to yourself or others. That's all I'm saying...
You are assuming. Arms have been handled by my family for generations. Military, hunters, marksmen for career and sport. Archers. We have no reason to be afraid. What is to be feared is our rights to be removed. You
I respect your opinion. I hope neither of our perspectives are ever put to the test.
I certainly don't expect that at all as I haven't been anywhere close to that in my 68 years. And I have no problem with personal hunting or military use; my problem is that handguns are designed solely to be used to kill People and only People and it's totally unnecessary to own one, but certainly your right....
My point was that we are bombarded with this.
Leah, I think it's refreshing to be "bombarded" by those who only value unbiased truths and personal stories, and where I can filter out all the rest. How else can we learn and understand the truths about the world around us? It's an avenue of growth and appreciation of life's stories...
What i am saying is we are bombarded with the glorification of violence, crime and evil in mainstream media. So we are bombarded with this.
Then, watch selectively...
You might have a clue if you realize that states that have open carry laws have the least amount of gun violence & generalized crime. People think twice when they know they can be shot back.
If you take the time to watch before trusting anyone, you will see that none of these instances were classified security info. The whistleblowers in the documentary were from both sides of the political spectrum. Both administrations went after them. What they exposed needed to be exposed. You really should watch it and get the facts before you trust so much.
Well, if it's truthfully about exposing political corruption, breaking int'l treaties, bribery, etc., then that's a different story. I'll order the film on Netflix and get back to you on that, David....
It appears it's only on streaming with Netflix, which we don't get. Anyway, I read some more reviews of the film and it appears to be an obviously biased anti-Obama type film, therefore, I doubt the integrity of the film. I think I understand Obama, the man, pretty well, and I just can not see him doing anything that was not in the best interest of this great country. Until I see other behavior, I'm going to trust him for now. We still have a couple more years of his term and I'll be watching closely for any change in his integrity and honesty.
Review was incorrect. It out both administrations in a bad light. But it appears you are not willing to accept anything negative against your party or it's leader. I used to be that way about Republicans until I woke up. I hope you do too. Good day
David, I do keep a very open mind about politics, and I don't mean to make you wrong, as I am disappointed with many Democrats, as well. As I said, I will be watching Obama closely. Good luck to you in all your endeavors...
