LawCentral Alberta- LawCentral Alberta is a portal or collection of links to law-related information and educational resources on justice and legal issues of interest to Albertans. Our purpose is to create an educated public who understands their rights and responsibilities under the law, and who knows where to go for legal help and referral.
Little Warriors is a charitable organization with a national focus that educates adults about how to help prevent, recognize and react responsibly to child sexual abuse. Little Warriors also provides information about the prevalence and frequency of child sexual abuse and information about healing and support resources.
Charity Central is a Canada-wide charity law education initiative of the Legal Resource Centre of Alberta and the Centre for Public Legal Education Alberta , made possible with a financial contribution from the Canada Revenue Agency. The initiative supports Canadian charities in understanding and complying with the requirements of the Income Tax Act in the areas of receipting, fundraising, record keeping, and accountability and transparency practices.
The Legal Resource Centre’s mission is to enhance the accessibility and quality of justice realized in Canada. It addresses its mission by creating learning opportunities and building learning communities that facilitate the creation, management, exchange, and integration of knowledge among people within the justice system and between them and the general public.
BearPaw Legal Education & Resource Centre (BLERC) is a department of Native Counselling Services of Alberta (NCSA). Its main purpose is to develop and distribute educational materials to Aboriginal people in conflict with the law. BearPaw Legal Education provides material for individuals and for use in programs operated by various organizations and institutions. BearPaw Legal Education also has a special library at the NCSA head office in Edmonton, Alta.
Portage College Public Legal Education Program- Since its pilot year in 2001, the Portage College Public Legal Education Program has been committed to partnering with community agencies and representatives throughout the Northeast Region of Alberta to ensure that public and community legal education needs are being addressed through the provision of information, resources, and education on a variety of legal topics.
