Vintage Barbie Doll & Friends
Ruth Handler and Mattel introduced Barbie in 1959 and created quite a sensation in the doll world! For Handler, Barbie was an alternative to her weekly shopping trips with her daughter, Barbara, for paper dolls. The rest, as they say, is history. This pinboard reflects Barbie from her debut in 1959 through the "Mod Era" of the 1970s.
"Fashion Luncheon" modeled by a short haired American Girl Barbie from the collection of Gene Foote.
"After School Date" based on a vintage pattern, by Debi Dlik.
"Vacation Time" modeled by American Girl Barbie from the collection of Rosalie A. McFarlane.
