Hands-on investigation for learning how to understand time. A large felt circle with smaller incremental circles/squares (hour, minutes) with 5-10-15-... would make an awesome time clock. Hour circles different color than minute circles. I would place the minutes in circles, hours in squares (or vice-versa) for easy differentiation. Lego's make up the 5 minute bars.

Quiet Critters - when you decide it's important for students to be quiet, pass out the quiet critters. Take them away from students who talk. At the end of the activity anyone who still has a quiet critter gets a prize, point, whatever you use. Brilliant!
