Bake marbles at 325/350 for 20 min. Put in ice water to make them crack on the inside. Glue end caps to them with starter rings to create pretty pendants! Or Christmas ornaments

Second try: had to bake at 350 for 25-26 minutes. That time the large. clear marbles immediately cracked inside when dumped into the ice water and look pretty. Neither a large dark colored marble nor several small, colored marbles did not do as well for me. Colored flat sided "gems" did not crack nicelyl Will also try large, light colored marbles.

Have competed four necklaces; finished product looks pretty good, but need a little practice with gluing end caps and starter rings to look "professional". Will take them to craft show Sat. and see reaction. The large marbles look great! Couldn't find large light colored ones at Michael's or Walmart yesterday. Will keep looking. Great fun to experiment.

Where did you find the caps and started rings-they look great

  • Nell Servold

@Darla Payne Found the end caps at Michael's (24 in pkg), but they didn't have the starter rings that day. Clerk suggested using silver head pins . Purchased the 3/4 in. length; inserted pin through hole in end cap, curled the pin into a circle on top to hold chain. Glued end cap/pin into place on marble. Looks pretty good.
