"Queen Udell has patience 'just like Job,' according to her husband. The 57 year old woman learned to make yo-yo quilts from her mother and grandmother. These yo-yos are sewn up with embroidery thread, flattened and sewn together by hand. Ms. Udell estimates there are approximately four thousand of the dime-sized yo-yos in this quilt, which took over a year to complete... 'People give me scraps and I just sews'um.'" (photo 1979)
