Art Zone Hermosa Beach--looks like so much fun!

Knott's Berry Farm. We went there a couple of weeks ago and loved it. It was a totally new experience with kids. I only went on one roller coaster ride the whole day and had a blast just hanging out at Snoopy Land and in the western-themed Ghost Town with the boys.

I used to love visiting Knotts Berry Farm as a young girl. Haven't been since I was young though and now we live across the country so my kids have never been.

Stroller friendly hikes in Los Angeles :)

Balboa Park--14 museums, beautiful free gardens, free tram rides around the park... we LOVED going here and can't wait to go back to San Diego and see more of this place!

Wildlife Learning Center (in Sylmar) rescues wildlife and educates the public about the environment. It is like visiting a very small zoo but you get the chance to see and touch animals up-close. They do a "trainer talk" every hour on the hour and they let the kids touch the animal they bring out.

George F. Canyon Nature Center, Rolling Hills Estates (free). Very small but nice area for nature walks. Open Fri-Sat-Sun.

Huntington Library and Gardens, free first Thursday if you get tickets online the first day of the previous month.

"Visions of the Empire" exhibit at Huntington Library & Gardens April 21-July 23, 2012

First Saturday in March every year is the "Whale of a Day" Celebration at Point Vicente, RPV

Zoomars Petting Zoo, San Juan Capistrano--right by the train stop if you want to ride the Amtrak, too :)

Getting very commercial. Used to be way better with the original owners. Was free then, now it's pay, pay, pay

Historic red cars in San Pedro. Only a dollar per adult for all-day rides, and kids are free! Plus there are some great museums/sites along the way.

Point Vicente Interpretive Center, a small, free museum (donations suggested). It also has a great view of the ocean and the lighthouse.

Small museum at Torrance airport. They usually have at least one plane open that you can climb into, and they have a lot of models and pictures and other items on display.
