I would say this is just about dead on with 5 days a week of training with whatever you're doing. It's about 10 weeks for me and I can say this is true....both friends and family have noticed and even people at the gym that you see almost every day have mentioned something here or there. Very rewarding to hear. Don't stop.
If I gave up when something sounded scary I would still be the person sitting on the sidelines watching my girl at her dance/gymnastics/cheer/baseball... I don't want to be on the sidelines, so instead I'm a white belt, 11 pounds lighter and working towards the best shape of my life (NOT skinny but HEALTHY)
