"We must use time creatively, and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right. Now is the time to make real the promise of democracy, and transform our pending national elegy into a creative psalm of brotherhood." --Martin Luther King, Jr., from his Letter from Birmingham Jail, April 16, 1963
Irena Sendler 1910-2008 In WWII Irena worked in the Warsaw Ghetto as a plumbing specialist & smuggled Jewish children out in tool boxes & burlap sacks. She had a dog trained to bark when Nazis were near. Irena saved the life of 2500 children. She was caught & the Nazis severely beat her braking her arms & legs. She kept a record of the names of all the kids she smuggled out & after the war she tried to reunite them with their families or a new family. A noble nominee she lost, to Al Gore.
“I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious Ambiguity.” Gilda Radnor
Doris Day Cutie - legend
“Lucy Meets The Moustache” this is the very last episode that Lucy & Desi did together on Lucy-Desi Comedy Hour. They were going through a divorce at the time and during the very last scene where they had to kiss, they both broke down and cried. Knowing that, that was their VERY last kiss and love scene together.
