Reiko Nishida. The center of the quilt is made from denim jeans! The border is made from a traditional Japanese fabric called "Kurumekasuri"
denim potholder- cut 24 strips 2" x 10". Press each in half length wise, open and press each side in to meet the center. Cut 1 strip 2" x 24" (or piece together) for binding. Sew top and right sides to a small strip of fabric 1/2 x 10" to secure for weaving. Weave strips together and secure last two sides. Finish with binding.
