Repurpose Flea Market Finds Shop flea markets and antiques stores for unusual pieces that can work as a kitchen island. This work island, made of metal and framed in wood, is a 50-year-old bakery fixture. Cleaned and sanded, it now offers a spacious top for food prep or buffet service and deep drawers and bins for closed storage.

Brilliant!! This space is created by opening the space between the studs in the wall. Small, skinny spot, but look at all of the fabulous storage with small pantry items that take forever to find - a great idea to steal space and have a big impact. Love the medicine cabinet idea. There are TONS of ideas on this.

Storing baking sheets, cutting boards, and sturdy platters upright on kitchen shelves frees space and keeps you from having to lift a heavy stack when you need only one item. Create dividers for them using tension curtain rods. Buy rods to fit the space, and position pairs of them at intervals. Twist to tighten.
