Ann Mortimer's fantastic tutorial/demo on negative painting with daffodil leaves. She uses a wet on wet technique to place the lights and darks, then goes more into details. This makes the color more cohesive than painting each leaf on its own from the start. Cool!

Great info on using colored pencils - Prismacolour. On a personal note, using baby oil is a great element and cheaper to blend colors vs the odorless mineral spirit (OMS) as this last one can cause headaches if you are sensitive. Just place a cotton ball with some drops of baby oil (not drenched) on a small jar and wet stump to blend.
