Favorite Places in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky

When people like Brian and Pook share their love of ice cream with the world, we're all winners. Amazing flavors, the best ingredients, and super-attentive customer service. Just a block and a half south of the Main Library on Vine Street.

Hello, Honey open on Vine - wine me, dine me

Full-service butchery with a deli/grocery right next door. My go-to place for lunch--just a block north of the Main Library on Court Street. Friendly staff, fresh foods, great selection, and good prices.

Tucked away on the side street that runs behind Findlay Market, this is a great go-to place for Asian ingredients as well as American staples. Great selection of foods from all over East and Southeast Asia and better prices than the supermarket on items like rice, produce, and spices. The father and son who run Saigon Market are always friendly and helpful, so don't be afraid to ask for tips and advice!

Washington Park, downtown Cincinnati. Awesome revitalization of a downtown park. Gazebo/stage, lots of stuff to climb on, fountains, and a great dog park.

Rio Grande - Standard Americanized Mexican fare, but the food is always fresh, fast, and cheap. The staff are always friendly, and really, where else in town will you be greeted by a burro with no ears? The new outdoor dining is nice too.

Krishna Indian Restaurant - More evidence that the best #IndianFood comes from holes in the wall that use styrofoam plates. A block off Clifton Avenue on Calhoun, Krishna serves up great Indian and Pakistani food at a decent price.

Really good, really reasonably priced Thai/Southeast Asian food.

Cool place, good beers, pro-rocknroll, free shows. I wish more live music venues followed this business model...

Nice NEW spice, herb, and tea shop right on Farfield Avenue. Bellevue is shaping up to become Northern Kentucky's version of Clifton, and places like these are part of the reason. Seriously, support places like these, unless you love buying old inferior product at Kroger.

I like to cook and love to eat, so I'm always trolling for quality ingredients. Colonel De and his spice soldiers are great-- knowledgeable about their spices and herbs, friendly and helpful, and all at a good price.

This place is next door to Iris Bookstore on Main in OTR. Vinyl, vinyl, and more vinyl, mostly used with a great selection. A real gem in the age of CDs and downloading-- quirky finds, cool staff, and charming as hell.

You've probably heard people talk about Ambar India in Clifton... Yes, their food is very good, but the prices are fairly steep, and their portions are less than generous. APNA INDIA, the little place directly across the street, has food that's just as good, and it's a BUFFET at a lower price. Win!

Best record store in the Cincinnati metro area. CDs, vinyl, DVDs, books, toys... everything except the dicks who usually staff stores with selection this good!
