I need this for my classroom!!
A quote I think fits Ophelia's view on Hamlet very well. Hamlet changes from what Ophelia believed to be a man who loved her into someone who has lost his mind who she must no longer love. He claims their relationship was a lie, and then tells Ophelia to "get thee to a nunnery" and "trust no man", letting her know she should stop believing in him, even if it hurts.
It took me so long to learn this... Through a lot of pain and tears and heartache brought on by my own thoughts, I have come to realize that being perfect is not the ultimate goal in life. Embracing the things that make me human, that make me relatable to others, my flaws, has given me more joy and understanding than "perfection" ever could.
Missing someone a lot today. Sigh....
Today I can honestly say that I lost my best friend. I hope he knows that I did anything I could to make him smile and to be happy! :(
