A cute way to teach students to add details to their writing. Have them write a description of their bedroom, telling them to be as descriptive as possible (don't just say you have a desk, tell exactly what it looks like, what's on it and it's location). Once students have finished their writing, collect the papers and distribute them out to the class so students don't have their own writing. Classmates read each others writing and then draw a picture of the bedroom from what they have read
Put class list in a frame to easily mark and erase. It would be cool to add a line at the top where you could write what you're checking off such as "Field Trip Money." that way you can easily keep track with a collection and the kids can see it, eliminating the constant questions!
Use the bracelets for assigning students into teams for class projects. Or if you want random team assignment, put the bracelets in a paper bag and have students close their eyes and pick one.
I like how this gives examples
This is a GREAT list of procedures to teach at the beginning of the year. Many of these are things teachers don't think about teaching.
