Ribbed ivory silk stomacher embroidered with a rose, a carnation, and a tulip, c. 1720-1740. Stomachers are decorative V-shaped panels which covered the bodice front from the 16th to 18th centuries. They were held in place by pinning the tabs to the sides of the open robe (dress).
