Devonshire Cream. I love this with scones. If you cannot make or get a hold of some of the real thing (clotted cream is hard to make) here is a nice substitute recipe I found: 4 ounces mascarpone 1 cup (240 ml) heavy whipping cream 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract 1 or 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar Zest of lemon or lime (optional)
Devonshire Cream Recipe
Garlic Mayo 1 bulb garlic olive oil - drizzling 1 c mayonnaise 2 T olive oil 1 lime, juice 1/2 T dill relish Slice the top off the garlic bulb and place in a small baking dish or foil that has been pulled up at the edges (to form a bowl). Drizzle a little olive oil over the top and bake in the oven @ 300 for 30 min or until the garlic is soft. Peel the skins off the garlic and mash garlic into a paste. Combine garlic, mayo, olive oil, lime juice, and pickle relish. Stir until blended.
1950's Sweet Corn Relish
Thai Sweet Chili Sauce. Sweet, spicy, vinegary, and a lovely shade of red with little flecks of chili and garlic suspended in it. And it keeps for a million years in the fridge if you don't use it that fast. (But really, if it takes you that long, you probably don't like it enough to make it worth the real estate, and ought to just toss it. I mean, are you a hoarder?)
