Mid Century Modern House Plans
c. 1960 Ranch and Modern Homes by Hiawatha T. Estes, Plan No. 3740, 1,376 SF. This plan reveals a hint of the Asian influence in the subtly curved roof and louvered window treatments. This plan is just a little over 1,300 square feet, but manages three bedrooms and a bath and a half. The single full bath is well appointed with separate shower and tub as well as a double vanity. The L-shaped open living room and dining area and kitchen with an eat-in nook look very functional.
1955 Estes Home Plans - 3740
Many of the plans in this particular Estes collection are very cute rustic or artistic-style ranches with diamond-paned windows, exposed rafters, board-and-batten siding paired with brick masonry easily qualifying them as Storybook Ranches. This modestly sized home has three bedrooms and two baths, one of which is connected conveniently to the master via a walk-through closet.
The kitchen living dining & family rooms all have doors to the patio!.... I like it! c. 1960 Hiawatha Estes Plans - No. 3721
1960 Better Homes & Gardens Five Star Homes, Design No. 2803. This modern contemporary with lots of windows and simple exterior finishes relies on small punches of color. Turquoise, gray, and white with charcoal trim is ultra clean and up-to-date. The interior is arranged for maximum flexibility. This plan is timeless and could easily have been built from 1940 to 1970.
