Lyle the Crocodile has a new job walking dogs. On day 1 he walks one dog, on day 2 he walks two dogs, etc. On each page you are introduced to a new dog and asked to count them. The dogs have humorous names (like Scrappy and Sniffy) and distinct personalities (Scrappy does what he wants and Sniffy likes to sniff). Even after a squirrel encounter, Lyle manages to do an excellent job.
