Wash Off Mud & Dirt Install a shower basin and floor drain in your entry to collect wet footwear. Add a wall faucet and flexible hose attachment for rinsing off mud and debris. (It's also handy for a quick pet bath.) And don't forget to include a fold-down bench for putting on shoes or stacking a few cleanup towels.
I love the mini shower for rinsing off everything from muddy toes and boots to grassy sandals and sandy feet. Check out the tags on the baskets - too cute!
To get rid of the nasty black gunk in your drain & mildew smell: 1. Put a pot of water to boil. 2. Meanwhile pour baking soda down the drain (BS has the ability to neutralize fatty acids so it will eat away the grime) 3. Once boiling remove water & pour down drain. 4. Let the water/BS work at decomposing and sterilizing the grime for 10 min 5. Then pour 1 c bleach down the drain to completely kill any remaining mildew or bacteria. (repeat every few months)

Awesome website. Type in your starting destination and your ending destination, and it will find ALL SORTS of things for you to do, see, eat, play along the way.
SHAPEABLE ice packs. 1 part rubbing alcohol to 3 parts water. Gets really cold, but won't freeze solid. Seriously need these for the summer!!
"too big" and "too small" buckets in the kids' closets - so smart.
"If you want to cook corn for the masses, Bon Appetit suggests a dead simple, ingenious method: "cooler corn." Basically, fill a large, clean cooler with loads of corn on the cob and pour two kettles-full of boiling water over the corn, then close the top. 30 minutes later, your corn will be perfectly cooked."
Hang kids' art. Did this in my new craft room. I love how it displays the kid art so much better and inspires me. I will say that the Ikea curtain wires I bought were slightly different than these, and very cheaply made. In fact we bough three, and one had totally stripped caps and couldn't be used.
great way to display kids artwork
This website allows you to enter your starting and ending destination and car make/model/year to calculate how much a trip will cost you in gas (calculating for regional gas price differences). Ingenious!
